Amad Diallo and his brother, Hamed Traore, found themselves at the heart of a high-profile investigation in Italy. The case shone a light on the illegal trafficking of the siblings from the Ivory Coast to Italy. Diallo’s parents were accused of not being his biological parents and suspicions regarding his brother began to rise as well. Interestingly, Amad Diallo dropped the Traore from his name and replaced it with Diallo shortly after his arrival to Italy.
Although no criminal accusations were leveled at Amad and his brother, they were both found guilty by the Italian FA for using false documents to register at their respective clubs. The brothers were fined €48,000 and reportedly accepted plea bargains to avoid a permanent football ban.
