Goal 90’s Top 10 Football Predictions for 2024

Football Predictions for 2024: 2023 was great for us football lovers. A lot of very interesting things happened that made us feel all sorts of emotions. But the year is over now, so let’s look forward to the new year. Today, we want to look at the top 10 football predictions for 2024.

We’ll start with the league title winners. Here are our top 10 Football Predictions for 2024

1. Ligue 1

Ligue 1 is the easy one. PSG will win that as they almost always do. Halfway through the season, they’re 5 points off Nice, and with the quality they have, we expect them to see it through.

2. Serie A

In Italy, we predict that Inter Milan will win the Scudetto. They’re 4 points ahead of Juventus in second halfway through the season, and we expect them to see it through. Juventus could make it difficult for them, but Inter has the quality to win the league for the first time since 2021.

3. La Liga

In Spain, we’re sensing a fairytale story just like Leicester City had in 2016. So yeah, our bold prediction here is that Girona will win La Liga.

4. Bundesliga

We’re not sensing the same fairytale as La Liga in the Bundesliga and that’s because no matter what happens, Bayern always seems to end up with the title. Leverkusen have been great so far, no doubt, but we predict a Bayern Munich victory.

5. Premier League

Finally, for the Premier League, we predict Manchester City will win a record 4th consecutive title. Big shoutout to Liverpool, Arsenal, and even Aston Villa, but we’ve seen this script one too many times.

With Haaland and De Bruyne coming back in January, we expect the champions to go on a rampage and defend their crown. But Liverpool could really threaten that, so watch out.

Let’s now move to Europe. This is where it gets really difficult.

6. Europa League

It would have been easy to predict Sevilla as Europa League winners because that now seems to be their birthright, but they’re not even in it this time around. So, our prediction is that Liverpool will go home with the Europa League.

If the Reds really want it, nobody can stop them from winning that trophy. But there’s a possibility that Klopp might choose to prioritize the Premier League and that could affect their performances in Europe, but we’ll see.

7. Champions League

For the Champions League, Real Madrid will always be the safe bet. They’re just too good when it comes to the Champions League, and they’re looking sharp this season, so they could really do it. They finished their group stage campaign with a perfect record, winning all games; if they take that form into the knockout stages, they could really be claiming number 15.

8. Euros

Still in Europe, for the Euros, we predict that France will come out as winners. These guys are still reeling from their World Cup final loss, so we think they’ll take that anger and use it to possibly go all the way in the Euros.

But World Cup loss aside, France are the most talented, scariest, and most dominant national team in Europe, and they always look like they could win every competition they partake in.

9. AFCON

For AFCON, we predict success for Morocco. We saw the North Africans make history at the 2022 World Cup, and we expect that they’ll keep up that form and conquer Africa in February 2024.

They have a fine team, a fine coach, and they’ve shown that they also have desire, so why not?

10. AFC Asian Cup

Now, we go over to Asia where we predict a win for South Korea in the AFC Asian Cup for the first time since 1960. The team currently being managed by Jurgen Klinsmann is a star-studded one. Heung-min Son, Hwang Hee-chan, Kim Min-jae, Cho Gue-song, Kang-in Lee, among others. This is South Korea’s golden generation and 2024 could really be their year.

11. Copa America

For the Copa America, we predict success for Argentina once again. These guys are the best team in the world, and have been for some years now, and this could be the last dance for this incredible team. Di Maria has said he’ll be hanging it up after the Copa America, Scaloni has teased stepping down from his position as coach, and Lionel Messi appears to still be contemplating, so the team could be looking at going out with a bang in the 2024 Copa America.

Let’s now look at some individual prizes

12. European Golden Shoe

The European Golden Shoe will go to Harry Kane. You still can’t look past Haaland, of course, but what Kane is doing in the Bundesliga is just insane and we expect him to continue in that form and clinch his first European Golden Shoe in his first year in Germany.

13. Ballon d’Or

The big one, the Ballon d’Or is super tough to predict. If France wins the Euros, Mbappe could win it. If City win the Champions League, Haaland could win it. If England wins the Euros, that could be Bellingham or Kane depending on how Bayern and Madrid do in the Champions League. And you still can’t rule out the old guard because if Argentina win the Copa America and/or Portugal win the Euros, Messi and Ronaldo quickly return to the conversation.

But if we were forced to make just one pick, we’d go for Jude Bellingham. The boy has just been phenomenal for Real Madrid since joining in the summer. And you naturally expect Madrid and England to go far in the Champions League and Euros respectively; perhaps even win the trophies. If those two things happen, then there would not be a better candidate than the 20-year-old.

Now, here’s a bonus for you guys. We predict that Newcastle will sack Eddie Howe, Man United will sack Erik ten Hag, and Barcelona will sack Xavi.
