Diogo José Teixeira da Silva was born on 4th December 1996 in the stunning landscapes and vibrant cultures of Portugal. Nicknamed Jota, the Portuguese was born to a family of affectionate and supportive parents, Isabel Silva (Mother) and Joaquim Silva (Father). Diogo Jota’s Club History
Jota began his professional career after graduating to the senior team of Paços de Ferreira. The Portuguese maestro became the youngest footballer to score in a Primeira Liga match for Paços de Ferreira the club and attracted scouts from Spanish giants, Atletico Madrid.
Although Jota did not make any appearances for the Spanish side, his hometown club, F.C. Porto noticed his potential and signed him on a one-year loan deal where he would score 9 goals and provide 7 assists in 38 appearances. This is also where he became the youngest Portuguese player to score in an FC Porto shirt.
After the winger returned to Spain, the breakthrough moment in his career would come after joining English side Wolverhampton Wanderers on a one-year loan deal. His instant impact would compel the club to sign him on a permanent deal in the future. Jota played a significant role in the rejuvenation of Wolves. He became a favorite of the then-Wolves manager, Nuno Espírito Santo.
Nuno was building a project that would see them win the EFL Championship, propelling them to promotion to the prestigious Premier League. They would then go on to have a mesmerizing spell in the Premier League after finishing 7th for two seasons in a row. Jota scored a total of 44 goals and assisted his teammates on 19 occasions in just 131 appearances for the club.

Jota’s dazzling tenure at Wolves would draw the attention of many footballing powerhouses. After being linked to multiple clubs, English giants Liverpool would swoop in and sign the forward in 2020 for 28 million Euros. He has now cemented his spot in the Liverpool side alongside world-class stars like Mohammad Salah, Darwin Nunez, Virgil Van Dijk, Luis Diaz, and many more.
