At 13 years of age, he attempted trials at Braga and impressed everyone there. He smoothly progressed through the youth ranks showing everyone what he was capable of with the ball at his feet. He graduated from their academy in the year 2017.

He made his senior debut for Braga at 17 years of age where he made an instant impact – scoring a goal on his league debut. He quickly gained attention from big clubs in Europe and it was Barcelona who came straight knocking at his door with an offer to his parents. The President of Braga had to intervene and managed to convince his parents to get their boy to continue his development at their club. He was instead loaned to Lazio.
